Whaaa? is a running gag, wherein a character (primarily Chris) will react to shocking news, with a nonchalant response, before realizing how absurd it is, mid-sentence, with a deep, bellowing "Whaaaaaaaaaaa?"

Antonio Monatti told Chris that he'd never see his father again. Antonio asked it his dad would be okay with this and Chris responded by saying "Yeah, of course he will. Dad's very flexible, so he'll be fine with changing his plans of watching me grow up, so that I can-Whaaaaa?"
Brian finally breaks the news to Chris, that his father is jealous of the size of his penis. Chris responds by saying, "Oh, that's fair. He is older than me after all, and I'm only 13. So, that fact that he-Whaaaaa?"
When Sam tells Chris that she loves him, Chris, still believing her to be a guy, says "Oh, why that's very flattering, Sam, truly it is. But I can't return the feeling, not because I see anything bad in you, but because I've already got a crush on someone else. Again, no offense to you, bu-Whaaaaaa?"
When Mrs. Lockhart tells Chris that she wants him to murder her husband, Chris' response is "Oh, that's reasonable. I mean, after what he did to you, I'd say he has it coming. Now, it may not be my fight to fight, but you're my friend, so you deserve to be helped with your-Whaaaaaa?"
Chief Oleki tells Chris that he can marry his daughter, Loka Oleki, and Chris replies, by saying "Well, if you're happy, then I'm happy, because after all, we all want the same things, don't we? So, sure, if you want me to marry your daughter, than I guess that means-Whaaaaaa?"
