Quotes[]
- Peter: What has happened to this family! It seems like ever since the modern age of technology, we've decline in activness! Lois, when was the last time you taught someone or hell even played the piano in the study room? Chris, when was the last time you drew a picture or even had your sketchpad? Brian, when did you write a book last?! You know for people who talk highly about how they can do this or that, I never see you guys do them!
- [In a flashback, Peter and his family is seen fishing]
- Young Peter: Caught anything, Mom?
- Young Thelma: Not yet, Petey. How about you, Fran Fran?
- Young Francis: Nothing. Any luck, Kizzy? [Francis turns to see Karen's not on the boat anymore] Karen?
- Chris: Cool! We get to live in a tent!
- Stewie: I never thought I'd say this, but I'm going to live with the black family
- Chris: Check it out, Dad. I made my own trail mix. It's called "VPIFLATH".
- Peter: What does that stand for?
- Chris: Various Pills I Found Lyin' Around The House. There's no better place for a drug freak-out than in the middle of the woods.
- Meg: Hey Brian, you about ready to go camping?
- Brian: [sarcastic] Are you kidding?! I love camping! Next to eating dental floss out of the trash. it's about my favorite thing to do!
- Peter: We're gonna return to a simpler time. A time when there were no smartphones or laptops or tablets to entertain yourself with. A time when you had to talk to people instead of texting each other in a chat.
- Brian: Couldn't you just unplug our internet router? That could've had the same result.
- Peter: I had that, but I was halfway through the drive, and didn't want to waste all the effort I did for nothing.
- Brian: What's wrong, Stewie?
- Stewie: I don't know. I've just been eating a lot of Chick-fil-a and this is so far from a Chick-fil-a. I just don't know how I'm gonna go a whole weekend without eating like a fat southerner.
Trivia[]
- This is one of the few episodes where Peter becomes the straight man to the family's, and to a lesser extinct the rest of Quahog's, comic.
- Peter brings a zombified Francis out to attack him to test how tied into technology his family's in. Pre-existing voice clips of Francis being a zombie (as well as outtakes from Charles Durning as revealed on the audio commentary) are used to emulate him actually coming back from the dead.
- This episode marks Carrie Fisher's last recorded voice performance of Angela Everwood, with her character being killed off next season.
- The national park the Griffins camp out at used to belong to Brickleberry before it got canceled as revealed in a brochure.
- Chris makes his own trial mix from various pills he found in the Griffin House.
