Need for Weed is the 5th episode of Season 13 of Family Guy. It is the 305th episode, overall.
Synopsis[]
When Peter misses his old job at the toy factory, Brian time travels back to when Peter invited Mr. Weed at that dinner to prevent his death. But when they come back to the new present, they find out Peter’s now the Head of Toy Development and is a massive prick about it.
Plot[]
Peter comes home from work at the brewery feeling down because of how belittled he's treated there after Angela made him vice president of sifting through garbage for accidentally thrown away office supplies while his current job is filled with a Mexican man. Which leads him to remember the fun times and how good he had it when he worked at the toy factory. Remembering even that he was going to become Head of Toy Development before Brian launched that dinner roll into Weed's mouth and admitting he dislikes how Brian costed him a promotion and didn't even thank Peter for saving him at the cost of Mr. Weed.
Feeling bad, Brian sneaks into Stewie's room in the dead of night to use his Time Machine to travel back to November 26, 2000 (the day "Mr. Saturday Knight" premiered) and knocks his past self out to pose as him for the dinner scene, preventing Mr. Weed from choking on a dinner roll. Upon returning to the present, everything has changed dramatically, the house is now remodeled and revamped compared to the original timeline and Peter's promotion came into fruition. And currently, Peter's more than the Head of Toy Development and has taken over as the new boss of the Happy-Go-Lucky Toy Factory, with Mr. Weed stepping down. Stewie, the only one unaffected from the change due, is of course frustrated at Brian for using his time machine without his approval and the fact he used it to change history again. Brian promises that this change is for the better, as Peter gets a better job, and the family gets to thrive more as a result due to the increased money Peter's getting in his position, and Stewie challenges that by the two following Peter secretly to his job.
However, when they get there and look around, it's clear that things aren't what they seem. The factory has been turned into a vast smoke-spewing industrial complex, a far cry from the simple building it once was. Peter revealed to be a very demanding boss, someone who the employees are very hard to please. He also shows to be quite the abusive boss, treating his coworkers poorly, underpaying them, and demanding outrageous things from them. So much so, he even forced his family to work for the factory without pay. Realizing how worse it is in this new present, Brian and Stewie return to 2000 to prevent Brian from.
