A Fistful of Meg is the 21th episode of the tenth season of Family Guy. It is the 241th episode, overall.

Synopsis[]

Meg spills her lunch on the new kid, Michael, who is appropriately nicknamed "Mental Mike." When he sets the date for her end on Friday, Meg tries to get out of it.

Plot[]

As Meg's friends tell her about the new dangerous kid Mike, she sees him abuse Neil Goldman. Later, she accidentally runs into him at lunch and spills her tray on him, prompting him to challenge her to a fight the following Friday. She desperately tries to find a way out, even considering a transfer to another school and trying to get expelled. She tries to hire several jocks but Mike beats them up. Even her own friends refuse to stand by her. Crying over her pending doom, she hears Quagmire in the girl's restroom and he offers to help her beat Mike.

Quagmire reveals that his offer to help was motivated by a bully from his own youth. He gets her to focus her rage toward Peter as well as using her own body's weapons against Mike. At the fight, Mike beats Meg almost senseless but she refuses to give up, grossing him out by kissing him and popping a zit in his face. As he tries to deliver a knockout blow, she lifts her shirt and melts him by showing him her breasts. As she walks away with Quagmire, he reveals she would die the following year from septic shock from hot dogs.

Quotes[]

Meg's Baby: Mama!
Meg: What are you doing out of your box!?

Ruth: Hey, Megan.
Meg: Oh, hey guys. Wait, did you just call me "Megan"?
Ruth: That's your name isn't it?
Meg: Actually, "Meg" is short for something else.
[Cutaway to Meg's birth]
Lois: [gives Peter Meg's birth certificate] Peter, will you give this to the nurse?
Peter: Uh-huh.
[Peter vandalizes her birth certificate and changes "Megan" to "Megatron"]
Peter: [chortles] [singing] Robots in disguise.

Patty: Hey, did you guys hear about that new kid?
Meg: The Emo Muslim?
Emo Muslim: [sigh] Death to America.

Brandon: Man, he looks mean.
Dillan: You're very judgmental lately. I don't like this, Brandon.

Meg: [slow motion] Oh, fudge.
Meg's Future Self: [narration] Only I didn't say fudge. I said fuck.

Mike: I'm going to kill you. What's your name, dude!?
Meg: [nervous] Oh, you don't need to know-
Everyone: MEG GRIFFIN!
Mike: 3:00. Friday. I will destroy you.

TV Announcer: We now return to The Kentucky Derby, where 90% of the audience knows nothing about the horses and just roots for the horse with the cutest name.

Principal Shepherd: Good morning students. This is Principal Shepherd with the morning announcements. Remember that all wagers on Friday's Meg Griffin slaughter must be on my desk by Thursday. Also, Zack Morris, if you could stop freezing time to talk to the camera, the day would go by a lot faster.

Meg: Hey, mom. I need to transfer to a different school.
Lois: Meg, we've been over this. Just because a FaceBook page has over 2,000 likes doesn't mean you have to kill yourself.

Peter: Why, Glenn Quagmire. It's been 10 years if it's been a day.

[Stewie sees Meg's sex tape]
Stewie: You know what? Good for her.

[Meg goes up the the four toughest guys in school, Austin, Dawson, Brick, and Blake]
Meg: Hey, guys. You four are pretty much the toughest guys in school, right?
Meg: What would it take for you guys to beat up Mike Pulaski?
Dawson: Mental Mike!? Are you kidding?
Meg: Come on, guys. I'll do anything! I'll give you a swallow Friday.
Austin: You mean a follow Friday?
Meg: Ohhhh. I've been doing Twitter all wrong.

Meg: I can already picture my funeral.
[Cutaway to a coffin being lowered into the ground at a funeral with a massive turnout; Peter runs up and throws Meg's corpse in, revealing this funeral was not for her]
Peter: Thanks. Didn't wanna pay for the hole.

[Peter hosts "Inside the Actor's Studio"]
Peter: Jeff Daniels, what is your favorite care bear?
Jeff Daniels: I-I-I ... I don-I-I don't know any of the ... the care bears.
Peter: Right but if you had to pick one, who would be your favorite?
Jeff Daniels: Um, ... Well like I said, I'm not really ... familiar. I don't ... I haven't watched the show.
Peter: You can just say the color. I know all the care bears.
Jeff Daniels: I-I don't know. Is this-Is this related to the-
Peter: Just answer the question.
Jeff Daniels: Okay, I don't know the-the-THE BLUE ONE! Okay? The-The blue one.
Peter: Okay, so there's two blue care bears. You're gunna have to be more specific.

[Meg and Quagmire are in a video game parody; Peter enters]
Peter: I'm in the video game too.

Quagmire: Now Meg, in order to get you into fighting shape, I need you to drink this glass of raw eggs.
Meg: I don't see any yolks.
Quagmire: Just drink it.

David: Hey, Matt. Who are you taking to Meg's funeral?
Matt: I'm taking Jill.
David: Oooooh.
Matt: Wise guy, we're going as friends.

Quagmire: Alright, Meg. Remember what I taught you.
Meg: Relax my throat and make eye contact?
Quagmire: No, no. The fighting stuff.

Quagmire: Not bad for a loser.

Meg: I guess I get to die another day.

Trivia[]

  • Meg's full name is actually "Megatron", due to Peter vandalizing her birth certificate, when she was born.
  • Patty has two moms.
  • Quagmire used to be raped by a bully named Tracey Bellings, when he was a kid, which is probably what turned him into the rapist he is now.
  • This episode originally included a sideplot about Peter constantly exposing his naked body to Brian and tormenting him with his naked ass. However, this was deleted and is only available in the deleted scenes section on the DVDs.

Cultural References[]

  • The title is a reference to the film A Fistful of Dollars. Although similar, Dominic Bianchi reports the main plot is a parody of the 1987 film Three O'Clock High.
  • The scene where Meg says "Oooooohhhhhhh, Fffffffffudgggge" is a reference to A Christmas Story.
  • The "old school Nintendo game" Meg, Quagmire, and Peter appear in is Mike Tyson's Punch-Out!!.
  • Peter says that there are two blue care bears. Although at the time this episode aired, there were far more than that, the original 1982 Care Bears cartoon only featured two blue care bears. These being Grumpy Bear and Bedtime Bear.
  • Mike's face melting from seeing Meg's breasts is a reference to a scene from Raiders of the Lost Ark.
  • Principal Shepherd calls out Zack Morris for stopping time to talk to the camera, a frequent device the character used on Saved By the Bell.
  • While undressing himself, Peter attempts to have an intellectual conversation with Brian, referencing the Three Little Pigs.
  • When Peter is a garbage pile, he mentions that he "will assimilate this new smell into the larger Borg of my smells." This is a reference to the alien species "the Borg" first shown in Star Trek: The Next Generation, who assimilate other species into their cyborg collective.
  • After Meg kisses Mental Mike, he says "Your kiss is definitely not on my list!". This is a reference to the 1980 song "Kiss on My List" by pop duo Hall & Oates.
