Don't Trust the D___ in Apartment 23 is the first episode of the sixteenth season of Family Guy and the introduction of the Brian Moves Out saga. It is the three hundred and sixty ninth episode, overall.

Synopsis[]

After making an "offensive" Twitter post, Brian Griffin becomes a social pariah and gets run out of town.

Plot[]

In the cold open, Principal Shepherd confronts Brian and Stewie for an unknown reason, with Brian with a leg cast trying to escape. However, Shepherd smacks Brian with a baseball bat, which results in Brian being knocked out of a window. However, Brian stops it, with him as the narrator, saying that they probably wondering what stupid thing he did this time. And Brian says that to explain to the viewers how he ended up in this situation, he had to go back a bit.

The episode flashbacks to a few months beforehand, with Brian taking Stewie to a University library and witnesses a protest against a professor who told someone to have a nice day and they considered it microagression and also because someone put weird on the transgender bathroom. Brian Tweets and gets back into the Twitter game. And after he renews interest on the account he starts tweeting on a regular basis.

His tweets gather little attention until he goes to see the Baywatch movie and writes a tweet about Kevin Hart's new movie that's supposed to be funny but is offensive instead. While in the theater, his tweet goes viral and he exits to find an angry mob awaiting him who chase him home. Despite his attempt to delete the tweet, Brian as well as the family are treated as pariahs. Brian's attempt to apologize also falls flat and Lois tells him that he needs to move out for the safety of the family. Shocked, Brian packs up, and moves into a run-down apartment in Spinazola Apartments. The room Brian got was a crappy old room, with no carpets or even wallpapers. His feet froze on the cold cement floor, and it was painful for him to stand in one place for too long, without a towel under his feet. Running water was a no, and electricity was slim. He also lived next door to an arguing couple, who could be heard beautifully through the thin separating wall.

Quotes[]

Brian: [to the viewers] You're probably wondering, "(scoffs) Ugh, Brian, what did your pretentious ass do now?" Well, to explain, I have to go back a few months.

[Peter and Lois watch Meg do a one woman performance of "I Love Trash"]
Peter: Who's fault is this?
Lois: You're wearing a garbage bag as a cape, who do you think?

[Brian hits on a girl in the library]
Brian: So, who are you reading?
Girl: George Elliot.
Brian: Ah, Georgie. I'm a big fan. I think he ...
Girl: She.
Brian: She said it best, when she said. [looks at a page of the girl's book] Bantam Press, 1851.

Brian: About to see the new Kevin Hart movie. Just kidding. I'm white & went to college. #BaywatchMovie

Peter: Hey, Jerome. Gimme a beer.
Jerome: Oh, why? Cuz I'm like your slave? Man, you're no better than your racist dog.
Peter: Come on, man. Brian was just making a joke.
Quagmire: I told you about Brian, man. I told you. And what did I say would happen what I told you? Exactly what just happened. Mmm-hmm.

[A sensitivity mob gangs up on Chris and Meg in the lunchroom]
Alexander: Your dog wrote an insensitive tweet. You can't eat here.
Chris: Uh-oh, Meg. It's a sensitivity mob.
Meg: It was just a joke!
Nora: There's no such thing as jokes anymore.
Charles: Yeah, we live in a post-joke world.

Lois: This is getting out of control. We can't leave the house without getting harassed.
Peter: Yeah, yesterday I went outside to try to get the mail and I had a seizure.

[Brian apologizes to an offended angry mob]
Brian: Ladies and gentlemen, I'm here today to apologize ...
Male SJW: Why did you say "ladies" first? That's sexist!
Brian: It's just-It's just a standard greeting. Let-let me start over. Gentlemen and ladies ...
Female SJW: Ooh, says the man!
Brian: Okay, sorry I ... I, um. Humans in the audience.
Basketball SJW: I identify as a basketball!

Brian: You know what? Fuck you!
[The crowd gasps]
Brian: I'm not a racist, all right? I just told a bad joke. There's a huge difference. But nobody on the Internet ever takes the time to ask themselves, "Is this worth freaking out over?" or "Are there bigger problems in the world than this tweet?" Well, I assure you, there are. And just for the record, I love black people. I watch tons of black porn. What do you all want from me? Huh? You- You want to ruin my life? Then, congratulations! You did it! Everybody hates me! I can't leave the house without getting harassed, no one will hire me, ...
Stewie: [offscreen] That was a problem, before.
Brian: I can't turn on my phone and go online for two fucking seconds without strangers telling me to kill myself or that they're gonna kill my family. Leave me alone! I'm the self-righteous, liberal douchebag, not you! I've kissed a transsexual before! How many of you can say THAT?! Where's my fucking medal?! I am so far left, I'm spinning in circles, you shitheads! Instead of killing myself, I SHOULD KILL ALL OF YOU!

[Brian gets ready to leave the family]
Stewie: Brian wait!
[Stewie comes back to say one last thing to Brian]
Stewie: This collar is ours. It has our address on it.
[Stewie takes Brian's collar]
Stewie: Peace, dude.

Store Clerk: Hey, did you knock over a few bottles in Aisle 7?
Brian: Um, yeah.
Store Clerk: [sigh]
Brian: ... Okay.

Brian: [to the viewers] And this is my friends is how I fell to such I low. I lost everything... over a fucking tweet
